Island Beaches The island has about 30 beaches and coves, but the king of the beaches is White Sands Beach, a 3.5km ribbon of powdery white sand and gentle, warm water. The water is shallow and its beach sand is brighter and finer than most beaches in the archipelago Some Beaches include: White Sands Beach" which is the most popular stretch of sand, Diniwid Beach or by some of the locals as Artista Beach, Bulabog Beach also known as "Sport Beacg" and other beaches such as Punta Bunga, Balinghai near Balinghai Beach Resort, Puka Shell, Ilig Iligan, Lapus Lapus, Lagutan, Tambissan, Manoc Manoc and Cagban Beach. Recommended Route The most recommended route is by airplane to Kalibo or Caticlan. The flight time to both locations is approximately one hour. If you go via Kalibo, you will be able to fly on a B737 150 seat Jet aircraft of Philippines Airlines, Cebu Pacific Philippines or Air Philippines. If you go via Caticlan (most recommended airport), you will fly on Asian Spirit, SeAir or Interisland Air which offers 7-10 flights each a day to Caticlan. The benefit of travelling on the smaller planes to Caticlan is land transfer to the boat jetty where you take a local Banka to the island. Transfer time from Caticlan Airport to Boat Jetty is only 5 Mins as oppose to Kalibo's 2 hours land transfer by bus. Take note that if you wish to change your flight ticket to another departure time the large amount of daily fights to Caticlan Airport will make the change very easy as opposed to the minimal/limited amount of daily fights to and from Kalibo. Once you have reached the Jetty Port, your next step is into a ferry boat that will take you to the resorts / hotels. The Ferry ride will take approximately 20 mins. Travelonline packages come with door-to-door transfer service from the airport to the Boat Jetty then boat transfers and directly to the check-in desk of your preferred resort or hotel.
